A modern interactive range for training cadets has opened at the Kyiv University of Intellectual Property and Law. The new system has become part of the practical training base and makes it possible to practice weapon-handling skills in a digital environment — without using live ammunition.
The system combines training weapon mock-ups, projection equipment and specialized software. Cadets can go through various training scenarios, work with interactive targets, and practice actions in conditions that change depending on the training task. Unlike a classic range, the interactive system is not limited to static targets. The software makes it possible to create various virtual locations and situations, change exercise conditions, and repeat training multiple times while analyzing the results of each run.
This format is particularly important for training cadets: it helps combine theoretical knowledge with practice, build confident weapon-handling skills, and train concentration, reaction speed and decision-making. One of the system's key advantages is the safety of the training process. Cadets get the opportunity to practice regularly in a specially created environment without expending ammunition or facing the risks associated with live-fire exercises. Installing the interactive range is another step toward modernizing the training infrastructure and moving from traditional training formats to technological, scenario-based, practically oriented training.
Modern training is not just knowledge. It is the ability to repeatedly practice the right actions before they are ever needed in a real situation.
